The Seed of Life is a sacred shape that appears in many cultures. The shape represents the inner seven circles of the Flower of Life, which is considered to be the base of the larger design. The Seed of Life represents the consciousness of God and this image is a duplicated print of the original batik.
One of my students from the Jean Augustine Centre originally began this project but just completed the basic waxing and dyed just a few sections. Since I do not like to waste a project, I completed it and made it my own with deep earth tones.
